PREPARATION
BOTTOM CLEANER
BIO SURF CLEANER:
It is essential that the surface is completely clean before the application of the coating. It is stressed that in many instances the end user considers that a surface is clean after wiping the surface with a cleaning agent until it looks clean. The preparation required before applying our coatings is much more thorough!
If you do not have access to - Slick Willys Surfboard Bottom Cleaner ®; It is suggested that in the first instance the surface is washed thoroughly with water and a clean cloth in order to remove general soiling. If you do choose to use a cleaning agent other than - Slick Willys Surfboard Bottom Cleaner ®, ensure that it does not leave any surfacants on the surface as residues of oil or wax prevent the layer Slick Willys Board Sealer from bonding.
The layer formed is only 100nm thick (500 times thinner than a human hair). It is massively durable but as can be imagined this ultra-thin layer can only bond efficiently to a completely clean and dry surface. Important. It is not possible to apply our sealer on top of waxes or silicone wash coatings . It is necessary to remove such coatings with a suitable cleaning agent It should be noted that the use of - Slick Willys Surfboard Bottom Cleaner ® will significantly enhance this initial cleaning process. We do not suggest using washing liquid as this place's surfactant residues on the board.
1. We strongly recommend that the bottom of your board is washed thoroughly with Bio Surf Cleaner - Slick Willys Surfboard Bottom Cleaner ®, mixed to a ratio of 1 to 15 (1 part - Slick Willys Surfboard Bottom Cleaner ®, 15 parts warm water).
2. Work the mixed liquid into and over the board with a clean cloth removing any wax , oil residue and heavy contamination such as insect residue etc.. It the liquid separates it indicates there is still a contaminant to be removed , if it's stubborn try a little neat Slick Willys Surfboard Bottom Cleaner on the contaminated spot.
3. Thoroughly rinse the surface with clean water.
4. Thoroughly dry the surface with clean cloth(s).
SLICK WILLYS BOARD SEALER APPLICATION:
THIS IS THE MOST IMPORTANT PART PLEASE FOLLOW THE INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY FOR THE LONGEST LASTING RESULTS
5. Only apply Slick Willys Board Sealer to the bottom of the board! If you apply it to the top part neither your board wax or you will stick to it.
6. Shake Well then apply the coating on to the surface using a suitable clean cloth. Working quickly, ensure full coverage of the surface. Wipe with both vertical and horizontal action to ensure full coverage. Apply the absolute minimum required for a layer ( as a guide 1.5ml of sealer will cover one coating of an average size short board).
7. Apply at least two coats of Slick Willys Board Sealer . Make sure that every part of the bottom of your board is covered
8. Allow the coatings to dry for approximately 5 to 30 minutes. (5 minutes in warm weather e.g. 25°C… 30 minutes in cool weather e.g. 10°C).
9. After application the surface may look slightly “cloudy”. Buff the surface with a clean cloth to remove any residue which contributes to the cloudy appearance.
10. The coating takes 1 hour to start being effective and cures fully in 10 hours .
We advise leaving it overnight as it will give a far superior bond for the Slick Willys Bottom Polish.
Please note •
Do not apply the coating in damp or very humid conditions.
• Do not apply the coating in hot, direct sunlight.
• Do not apply our Board Sealer coating on to surfaces which are coated with other agents such as waxes, polishes , silicone's or oils etc.
• Do not apply the coating to hot surfaces (in hot regions of the world it is best to apply the coating early in the morning or in the evening, when often the auto surfaces are cooler). Avoid applying to surfaces when the air temperature or temperature is greater than 30°C. • Do wear gloves as a fingerprint can be 100 times thicker than the coating.
SLICK WILLYS BOTTOM POLISH APPLICATION:
Directions
Having waited at least 10 hours since you applied the Board Sealer
Saturate a small cloth with Slick Willys Bottom Polish and apply to a clean surface adding additional Slick Willys Bottom Polish to the cloth as needed. Slick Willys Bottom Polish is a distinct green colour making the polish easy to see against any colour surface.
You may immediately wipe away any excess Slick Willys Bottom Polish using a clean, dry cloth. No waiting, and no crusty haze to remove. There is no need to wait for the product to dry… just wipe it on, and then polish away the excess. No heavy buffing is required
Apply 2 coats initially for best results
NOTE: If applied on a hot day, we suggest starting with a damp cloth (add clean water to cloth, wring out) and then adding Slick Willys Bottom Polish to the cloth for easier application in hot weather or for warm surfaces.
You are now left with a clean, fast, long-lasting, glossy finish. Slick Willys Bottom Polish
We recommend repeating this process every 3 or 4 months. However, It could last much longer depending on how you treat your board.
